Standards and services

What a VVB does.

A Validation and Verification Body is the independent check between a carbon project and the credits it issues. We confirm the project is designed soundly, and that the climate benefit it claims is real, measurable, and conservative.

Standards we work to

Accreditation and conformance.

VeriClimate operates as a Validation and Verification Body in line with the international standards that govern the carbon market. The three references below set the bar for how we work, how we are assessed, and what our verification statements are worth.

ISO 14065GHG validation and verification bodies

The accreditation framework for bodies that validate and verify greenhouse gas assertions. It defines the competence, impartiality and process requirements every credible VVB must meet.

ISO 14064-3Verification of GHG assertions

The specification we follow when planning and conducting verification engagements, covering evidence gathering, materiality, sampling and the form of the verification statement.

Global Carbon StandardProgramme approval, Modules 13 and 14

Our programme level approval to perform validation and verification under the Global Carbon Standard, currently for waste and forest and land use methodologies.

Programme

Global Carbon Standard

The Global Carbon Standard (GCS) is an internationally recognised framework for the certification of greenhouse gas emission reductions and removals. We chose GCS because it combines methodological rigour with accessibility, which makes certification realistic for projects of every size.

Verifications under GCS are carried out in conformance with ISO 14064-3. VeriClimate is currently approved for two modules and is in the assessment process for further methodologies.

13Module

Waste

Methane avoidance, Organic recovery, Circular waste

We validate and verify projects that prevent emissions from organic and municipal waste streams. That includes composting, anaerobic digestion, landfill gas avoidance, and waste to resource initiatives. Our assessments focus on baseline rigour, leakage, and long term monitoring practice.

14Module

Forest and Land Use

Afforestation, Reforestation, Agroforestry, Avoided deforestation

We work with forestry and land use projects of every scale, with a particular focus on smallholder and community led work. Our verification approach values field presence and local knowledge as much as remote sensing data.

Our process

Four clear stages.

01

Scoping

We review your project, methodology fit, and timeline, and quote transparently.

02

Validation

Independent assessment of the project design against the chosen GCS methodology.

03

Verification

Field based monitoring and assessment of actual emission reductions or removals.

04

Issuance

Our verification statement supports issuance of credits under the Global Carbon Standard.

Why VeriClimate

A new VVB, on purpose.

Affordable

Pricing structured so smallholder and community projects can actually certify, not just promise to.

Field first

We spend time on site. Remote sensing is a tool, not a substitute for ground truth.

Experienced

Founded on years of disruptive CO₂ and reforestation work across the Amazon and Atlantic.
